Gluten Free Diet Not Effectively Lose Weight
Many ways that people do to lose weight. No wonder if until now so many types of diets are popping up.
One lot is a gluten-free diet. However, a recent study reveals otherwise.
Reporting from Food World News, the study showed there was no evidence to support claims of a gluten-free diet is effective for weight loss in people who do not suffer from celiac disease or gluten-related disorders, according to the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
"This study confirms that the gluten-free diet is only recommended for those who are gluten-related disorders. People who do not have the disorder switched to this diet because of misinformation," said Glenn Gaesser, Ph.D., study author and professor at the Arizona State University.
The man who is also a scientific advisor to the Grain Foods Foundation also said that people who eliminate gluten in the diet daily have increased body weight.
"That's because of the food they consume generally contain more calories than foods that contain gluten," he said.
He added that there is also evidence to suggest the consumption of food products containing gluten, especially wheat products are high in fiber can improve bowel mikrobioma benefits and its effect on health.
